ADMISSION OF CADETS
Applications are invited every year as per following details:
Training - Friendly Countries
Candidates from friendly countries are admitted on Government to Government arrangements, subject to availability of seats.
> Submission of Application Forms within Due Date.
> Entrance Test by Testing Service Agency at designted stations.
> Medical examination of short listed candidates at designated Hospitals.
> Final selection will be based on Testing Agency result and Total Marks obtained in Intermediate/equivalent examination (purely merit).
> 20 seats (10 in each discipline) are reserved under Self Finance Scheme (SFS).
> Branches (Nautical Science/Marine Engineering) are allocated after joining the Academy on the basis of merit position, medical fitness, Cadets’ choice and availability of seats.

2 Years residential training at Pakistan Marine Academy Karachi.
> Associate Degree in Ship Management or Marine Engineering Discipline by NED University of Engineering & Technology, Karachi.
> Seaman Service Book (SSB) by Government of Pakistan.
> Certificates of IMO recognised Pre Sea Mandatory Courses by PMA.
> Seaman Service Book (SSB) by Government of Pakistan.
> Certificates of IMO recognised Pre Sea Mandatory Courses by PMA.
Payment of Charges
> All charges are payable in advance before commencement of each Semester.
> Training Charges are subject to revision.
> There is no fee waiver policy. However, 33 fully paid scholarships arranged by GoP and 04 fully paid scholarships sponsored by GRG group, are offered on need-base criteria.
Candidates applying on Self Finance Scheme(SFS) are to submit additional amount of Rs. 300,000/= through pay order/ bank draft along with the application form as SFS fees.
Seamen Service Book(SSB)
Nautical Cadets are to pay additional amount(as applicable approx. Rs. 10,000/-) along with Fourth Semester Fee for issuance of Seamen Service Book (SSB).
Fees Re-Fund Policy
PMA may refund training Charges subject to the following:
> If a Cadet does not join the Academy.
> If Cadets are declared unfit by Mercantile Marine Department, Karachi, due Colour Vision Test.
> If a Cadet leaves the Academy on the request of his Parents/ Guardian within first week of commencement of classes; subject to approval by the Commandant.
> Security Deposit will be refunded after completion of the course and subject to submission of clearance certificate.
> No amount will be refunded in case a Cadet is withdrawn from the Academy on disciplinary grounds.
